PRODUCT BASICS

What is the warranty period for the Digital Key?

Two years from the date of activation

What features does the Digital Key support?

Unlock/Lock, trunk open/close (if electric tailgate is available), window up/down, remote start/shutdown, A/C on/off, vehicle location, status monitoring, key sharing, and OTA upgrades.

How long does installation take?

A certified technician needs about 15–40 minutes to install, activate, and pair the key.

Will installing the Digital Key damage my physical key?

No—the original key remains intact. You may continue to use both.

Do I need to provide an original key?

It depends on your car model.  Some require the original key inside the Tika box, other do not.

Can I use physical key and Digital Key interchangeably?

Not recommended. Using both at once may confuse the car’s key recognition temporarily.

Does the Digital Key drain my car battery?

No—when the car is off and in sleep mode, the static current draw is very low (<8mA).

Can my vehicle system be hacked?

No, Tika only works after obtaining official security protocol certifications.

How do I check if my car is compatible?

Each product has a compatibility list available on the product page

What’s in the box?

Warranty card, user guide, communication module, key box, vehicle control unit, harnesses, cables, 3M mounting tapes.

SUBSCRIPTION & SHARING

What features are free and what require subscription?

- Free: Bluetooth proximity control (Smart Unlock/Lock).

- Subscription: Remote functions via cellular (lock/unlock, A/C control, vehicle location, trip history).

How many people can I share my Digital Key with?

You can share with up to 7 people, with 3 users able to connect simultaneously.

How long is a shared key valid?

From 1 hour (minimum) up to 30 days (maximum).

What happens if my subscription expires?

Remote control and advanced features are restricted until renewal.

APP USAGE

Do I need to download an app to use the Digital Key?

Yes. The Tika App is available on both the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).

What happens if I lose or replace my phone?

Log back into the Tika app with your account/registered email. Your old session will automatically be invalidated.

How do I transfer the Digital Key when I sell my car?

In the app, go to Vehicle Settings → Unbind, then have the new owner scan the QR code to bind the key.

What permissions does the app need?

Notifications, location, Bluetooth, and camera access (for QR scanning).

TROUBLESHOOTING

Remote control not working?

Ensure good mobile signal. Try restarting App or renewing membership. If issues persist, connect via Bluetooth and run Network Diagnosis in app settings.

Bluetooth won’t connect?

Stay near the vehicle, unpair & re-pair, restart your phone, then retry.

Vehicle status incorrect in app.Refresh status. If it’s still wrong, contact TIKA support.

Installation shows “Key Not Detected”?

Lock/unlock with the app. Check chip battery (~3.2V). Make sure no other keys are interfering, and the original key is not in the box during pairing.
